The minimum age for walking an alpaca on your own is eight, however younger people from five and up can get involved and walk an alpaca on a double lead.

Leaving the adult in control but allowing the young person to enjoy the experience. Younger children can join in but can’t actually walk the animals but can walk alongside holding hands or be carried in a sling if a baby.

After choosing your animal and being instructed in Health and Safety and walking techniques by your walk leader, you’re now ready to go. The alpaca walk takes between thirty and forty minutes, with photo and feeding opportunities at the end.

They currently have 5 alpacas which can be taken out for walks on the 270 acres of undulating farmland which is studded with woodland and ponds.

The trek will all be off road – so no traffic. The farm is situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty and includes downland from which there are wonderful far reaching views of the island.

Routes can be tailored to suit different fitness and ability levels. Walks can be at whatever time of day is convenient for you with refreshments provided as wished.
